It was a national secret, but now it’s common knowledge that model Mona Singh plays the part of Armaan Sir’s clumsy secretary Jassi.

Mona admits that in real life too, “I am very clumsy and keep banging into people wherever I go. I respect and value time and I believe in God strongly.

Like my character on the small screen, my parents are very important to me. They are my best friends. If they are with me, no one else matters.”

Even Mona is bewildered by the way in which Jassi has stormed the country.

“Recently, my mom said that at an inter-school fancy dress competition at Pune, a girl dressed up like Jassi and won the first prize.” Mona, who likes to wear only lipstick and a dash of koel, is simplicity personified – even in her tastes in food.

Thought for food

I am from Pune . I am a Sardarni. Since my dad was in the army, we have travelled a lot. After he retired, we settled in Pune. I came to Mumbai recently. I have always been special for mom and dad.

I begin the day with prayers . I need bed tea to bring me to my senses. I normally avoid breakfast, but if I am really hungry, I eat a sandwich or some fruit.

I prefer vegetarian food, especially gobi parathas, aloo parathas, rajma, kadhi. My favourite non-vegetarian dish is butter chicken, but I don’t like seafood.

When I am at home, I have very simple food — yellow dal, rice, curd and some sabzi. I like to have raita with my meals.


In my school tiffin, mom would give me puri-aloo. I loved her parathas with jam.
If I’m in the mood to cook, I would probably make channa bhatura.

I eat unit food, which is also very simple . It comprises an egg masala or a chicken dish in gravy, dal, raita and kheer. I relish snacking on samosas in the evening.

I am very fond of sizzlers.

My favourite restaurant in Pune is Zaika . It’s known for its kali ma ki dal and kebabs. Coffee House serves good food, but I’m not very fond of South Indian food. I recommend China Room for Chinese.

I can’t call myself a restaurant person. I see going out to a restaurant as a family outing.

In Mumbai, I have been to Legacy of China and Noodle Bar , but the only eating place I frequent is Urban Tadka in Seven Bungalows. Their kali dal and Amritsari chicken has a Punjabi flavour.
My favourite cuisines are Punjabi and Chinese. In Punjabi food, my favourite fare is kali ma ki dal, good spicy chicken and gajar halwa.

In Chinese food, I dig egg fried rice and chilly chicken.

I am a big time dessert person. I like gajar halwa, kheer, rabdi and firni. However, I don’t like ice creams. I love chocolate chips and chocolates except those with a mint flavour. In pastries, I prefer black forest.

I drink a lot of sweet lassi. My favourite beverage is Aarey’s sweet lassi.

As part of my fitness regime , I ask the unit man to cook food in very little oil for me. I eat rotis without ghee or butter. I avoid rice. I drink lukewarm water all day. I have no time to go to the gym; I shoot for 15 hours, everyday.

I am a student of Saint Mira’s college, Pune . During my college days, I would hang out at Gobbles. The restaurant does not exist any more. Prem’s served excellent moon fried eggs.
I can gorge on vada-pav and sev batata dahi puri. I love the raste ka sandwich in Mumbai. I am not fond of burgers and pizzas.

I can make very good parathas — egg, aloo, gobi, mutter, cabbage, chana dal parathas. I also cook stuffed bhindi and capsicum with aloo. My mom cooks amazing rajma and kadhi. I really miss her haath ka khana. I have learnt all my cooking from my mom.

Mangoes and custard apples are my favourite fruits.

In mocktails, I enjoy fruit punch. I had champagne once, but didn’t like it.
I give preference to the food rather than the ambience. Even a dhaba is fine as long as the food is good. In Mumbai, I have tried the Guru Ka Dhaba at Lokhandwala. It is famous for rajma chawal.

In the fridge, I don’t stack anything for myself. Come to think of it, I would like to stash away some chilled rice kheer.

My idea of a romantic dinner is Indian food, a softly lit place and a Jagjit Singh ghazal playing in the background.

On a rainy day, pakode and chai is an ideal combination.

During winters, my family loves to drive out in the night for a kulfi. I also look forward to eating sarson ka saag with makai ki roti and lots of white butter.

I like my food spiced with garlic.

My favourite gadget is the microwave. I am diet conscious and the microwave makes it easy to cook food in less oil.

The vegetable I resemble is a cauliflower. I feel Jassi is like a flower.

I've enjoyed my old Jassi look: Mona Singh

After a hectic shooting schedule in Mauritius, the small screen’s Jassi (Mona Singh) is back. Step one of that much-touted transformation has begun, but Jassi has a long way to go yet to become the svelte siren. While taking time off to be with her family in Pune, Singh talks to us about the new Jassi.

Is Jassi’s makeover a big relief for you?

On the contrary, I have already started missing the character. I have thoroughly enjoyed my Jassi look for the last one-and-a-half years — the specs, braces, hairdo and those loose, flowing salwar kurtas. I have told the channel that I would like to keep them as memorabilia but they are auctioning it.

At least now you don’t have to be spotted in your Jassi gear off screen.

Yes, things have become a bit easier for me now. But it’s a gradual transformation. The hair has been chopped; I have already begun wearing designer clothes. The braces and specs are still there though.

Now you can refer to yourself as Mona Singh, and not Jasmeet Walia.

Actually, Jasmeet is my real name; all my documents bear my name as Jasmeet Singh. That’s how I was named Jasmeet in the serial but with Walia as my screen surname. Mona is my pet name; I have an elder sister who is called Sona, so Mona was a convenient nickname.

Now that you have shed your Jassi garb, the focus will be more on you as a person and your acting capabilities.

It’s just that Jassi’s outer appearance has changed. She still talks and walks the same. Most importantly, she is still that loveable Jassi, albeit a more confident one. So it is not that I am doing a brand new role. I will get away with it because I am still Jassi at the end of the day.

There is Armaan Sir (Apoorva Agnihotri) who is now pining for you, then there is best friend Nandu (Gaurav Gera) and your former flame Purab (Sameer Soni). Three men at your beck and call?

That’s Jassi for you. At the moment, Jassi doesn’t even know how much Armaan is pining for her; all the info is via Nandu. And as for Purab…can I forgive him? Jassi will always be Jassi — all forgiving and loving.

Have you decided on anything else?

I am under contract with Sony till May. So at the moment there is nothing. But I know whatever I do will always be referred to as Jassi.

Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin: Update 24/03/05

Welcome to the world of Jessica Bedi!!

And one good news: Our tiger is back in action. Yes, Armaan!! God bless him for coming out of his Devdas phase...you'll love him today...

AIRPORT

Ok, this part was a bit confusing. The person at the ticket counter tells Jassi that there is still time. She tells him that her time has now started. He asks her if she has any cancellations and also her name. She tells him her name is Jessica Bedi.


GULMOHUR BOARDROOM

Mallika is sitting in the boardroom, discussing something with some people .Our tiger storms in. "GET OUT!!!" he yells at the men. They shoo off like frightened mice and Mallika is shocked. She asks him what's the matter. He shouts that she should be the one answering this question. She tries to act innocent and asks him what he means. Armaan is furious. He clutches (yes, clutches!!) her by the shoulders and yells in her ears that how dare she spread around the news that Jassi is a fraud and a thief; how could she defame her family. He shouts with fury that how could she kill those innocent people. He then grits his teeth and screams that he really wished that he slap her hard and raises his hand with full force.........but Aryan comes and pulls Mallika apart. (DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I hate Aryan all the more now..) He asks his dear sister if she is ok. what can happen to that thick skinned woman?)

He shouts at Armaan that only this was left for him to do: raise his hand on women. He dares him to fight him, if he has the guts.

Armaan is fully charged today. He seizes Aryan's collar and growls that it was he and his sister who did this cheap act. He is all set to kill Aryan and Mallika quickly calls Raj on her cell and asks him to come to the boardroom.

Raj enters and is shocked to see his friend strangling Aryan. He separates them and yells at Armaan to come to his senses. He orders Aryan to go and stand away. He asks Armaan what's wrong. He tells him that to fight like this signifies small people, not respectable people like them. Armaan glares at Mallika, fire emitting from his eyes and asks then what does this signify? To spread rumors about someone innocent and almost kill her family?

Aryan says that what he has done is something that was sensible to run a business whereas how Armaan is behaving is sheer madness.

Armaan loses his temper and throws a file at Aryan with full force. (I loved that part..it was cute...) . Raj scolds him that this is the boardroom and he stop behaving insane.
Aryan says that Jassi has stolen his as well as Armaan's money, she is a fraud. Armaan yells that Jassi is not a thief, she is not.

Raj, as expected turns tables. He explains to Armaan that if Aryan has done this, it is basically to restore everyone's money. Armaan asks in surprise if this is the way to get back the money. Raj explains (I am sorry there was a bit of disturbance on my TV when he was speaking, but this is what I have figured out) Kohinoor's money was found in an anonymous account and only one person can have that account. He indirectly hints at Jassi.

Armaan is shell shocked at Raj's implication and is deeply pained. "Tu bhi, Raj?" (You too, Raj??" he asks repeatedly, painfully. His eyes almost glisten. He says that Raj knows how these people (looking at Mallika & Aryan) are, yet he's believing them. He tells his friend that he did not expect this from him. Pain is written all over his face. Mallika and Aryan are smiling victoriously. Armaan and Raj leave.

Aryan congratulates his sister on her splendid move. She sits haughtily on a chair and sighs like a vamp. She says that more changes are yet to come. She says that today, it was the first time that there was a fight between Armaan & Raj, and she expects many more to come, she says she even hopes their is a crack in their friendship. Aryan asks how will she profit by this. She smiles cruelly and says that one by one, she will take away all supports of Armaan, till he has no one but her and compelled to come to her, Mallika Seth. (What a sweet misconception, Mallika Seth!)

FROM JASSI TO JESSICA

We see a plane landing. (Then how was she outside Walia house yesterday??)
Jassi is sitting in Purab's car and thinking how happy Purab is to know she's coming, he even sent his car. (Purab ka make-over hua kya? How come he didn't come himself to drive her home?)She hopes however that he doesn't get her wrong as she is going to him only for work and modeling. She hopes that he understands this basic thing.

Jassi comes to Purab's house. She enters inside and some men dressed in white, who looked like the waiters in a hotel come in a line, holding some boards like school children. She looks puzzled. The men stand in a line and display their boards: W-E-L-C-O-M-E. Jassi is surprised. Purab, in a blue shirt, comes down and blushes slightly at this own over excitement. ( They showed his entry in ekdum hero ishtyle..the way Karan Johar introduces his heros) Jassi and Purab stare at each other for a long time...well have we seen each other before?? Purab then comes to his senses and asks the welcome men to go.

He says, "Hi Jassi!". Jassi asks him not to call her Jassi. She says that she wants to tell him 1 thing; he might have surely seen something different in the old Jassi to offer her this contract; but now he should forget the old Jassi and only remember this new one. Purab looks surprised and asks her why she is saying this. Jassi tells him that she wants to forget her old life and her old image. She says that she needs his help in order to turn into a new person, who is so beautiful that the whole world will stare at her; who is so successful that success will forever kiss her feet and the whole world will have only one name on their lips........

"Jassi!" exclaims Purab.

"No! Jessica!!", she corrects him.

"Jessica??" he asks, stunned.

Jassi asks him if he will help her to become this new person. Purab tells her that he is ever ready to help her, but asks her the reason behind this. She says that she will take up this contract on one condition: that he never ask her anything about her past life. Purab looks down with disapproval. Jassi says that she knows he is not liking this but she really wishes that he never question her about her past. Purab holds her by the shoulders and that he will always remain by her side; but also that this will require a lot of hard work and courage. She tells him that she is ready. Purab says that he will always support her. Jassi tells him plainly that she does not need support, only an opportunity.

Purab nods his head and asks Jessica to sign on the papers. Jassi takes the papers and her mind flutters again: she tells it that she is doing the right thing by taking this decision. She then scratches out the print "Jasmeet Walia" and signs as "Jessica Bedi."

Purab then takes her to her spiritual and health guide, who will help her build her confidence and will power. He says that this will require a lot of hard work. Jassi asks the guide how long it will take He says that it all depends on her and asks her when she would like to start. Jassi says that she would like to begin right away.
Jassi starts with her first day at training. The guide teaches her several breathing exercises.

The next step is the dietician who is telling Jassi that she cannot eat potatoes, parathas, pickle, nor can she have lassi. Jassi looks disappointed. She suddenly imagines Bebe coming with a plate of hot parathas and telling her that a punjabi kudi has to be strong and hence she must have them. Jassi absent-mindedly says aloud that she will not have parathas, but only milk. The dietician brings her back to her senses by saying that she cannot have milk as well. I guess Jessica will survive on grass.) She says that Jassi cannot have all these things even if someone makes her eat the. Jassi looks sad and says that as it is, there is no one to make her eat now. Purab looks at her gloomily. Jassi then imagines Bebe, Amrit, Billu and Nandu . Nandu passes some silly comment on Jassi and Billu scolds him. Amrit advises her daughter that she works so hard, she must eat well. Jassi comes out of her imagination and says that their memory only will be her strength now.

The third step towards the making of Jessica. Jassi is jogging. She is wearing yellow track pants and a black top. She looks really frantic towards getting the new look .She stops, panting and rests near a rock. The momentary stop reminds her of the previous day with Billu throwing out her things. Her tears mingle with her sweat. As if she is trying her best to forget her pain, she starts jogging with more fervor.

Jassi is practicing pranayam with her guide. Candles and lamps are lit and it looks really peaceful. Purab comes and says that it is enough for today. Jassi asks if they can practice some more. Purab says that it is her first day and she will feel tired. But Jassi is adamant that she has little time and wants to do more.

She is again practicing those breathing exercises when Purab comes down dressed in a red pullover. He asks her if she has not slept yet. He asks her why is she punishing herself so. Jassi says that it is not her punishment but her necessity. Purab tells her sternly that he will NOT listen to anything and that she must go & sleep now. Jassi says to herself that there is no sleep in her eyes now, only fire and that sleep will come to her only when she returns home to Bebe's lap. Purab asks her where she is lost. Jassi says it's nothing and leaves. Purab says to himself sadly that he wished he knew.

Next morning, Jassi looks at herself in the mirror and screws her face. Purab asks her what's up. She says that there are some old things, which she wants to get rid of.
Next we see Jassi at the dentist, where she gets rid of her braces.
Then Purab takes her to Bausch & Lomb where we have some more advertising in order that Jassi get her new brown contacts, which can be worn comfortably even while dancing, playing and yoga. Purab smiles to see her. She looks really nice. (Well, her brown eyes match now to Armaan's.)


At lunch, Jassi suddenly remembers Bebe and she gets up from her soup. Purab is annoyed and asks her angrily what is this madness. He asks her why she left her food and if she plans on killing herself. Hasn't she already?)

Jassi says that she just wants to take revenge with those who have killed her. Purab asks her about these people and then remembers his promise. He says that he will not ask her anything but asks her if she is really happy after changing herself. She says that she is not doing anything for herself; she never has; she is only doing all this to get back her family's lost respect and honour. She says that this would not have been possible had she remained Jassi & hence she had to become Jessica. Purab starts to leave and Jassi asks him if he's going. He turns to look at her softly and says that he will never leave her. He tells her that she is his weakness, but he wants to become her strength.

Jassi is watching the models on TV. Purab comes and joins her. She says that she has never walked the ramp like these people and asks him to help her learn to walk like them. He looks amused and surprised and asks if she really means he should help her .She requests him again and he has no choice but to agree. Jassi comes wearing high heels and Purab "helps" her to model, supporting her from falling.

Finally they are tired and Jassi ends up sleeping with her had resting against his lap with his hand on her head. (Purab has dozed off sitting on the couch and Jassi is sitting on the floor). She wakes up and is slightly shocked to realize that her head was resting on his lap. She wakes him up after contemplating whether to touch him or not. He gets up still sleepy and she reminds him that it is her 1st photo shoot today, looking scard. Purab smiles and wishes her Best of luck.

Jassi then goes and ties all her old baggy salwars in a bundle. She remebers her old self and takes the bundle to the lake. She lets it in the water and says that she has finally let go of all the reminders of the old Jassi. (Don't worry Jessica, this looks like the same magic lake which revived your precious diary, the clothes and the old Jassi will come back too!)

MONDAY: In Gulmohur, Armaan(with Mallika standing next to him) is asking a scared Nandu what Mallika came and told Jassi's parents. Nandu remains silent and Armaan yells that why is he quiet. Nandu is almost in tears and tells him that Mallika told them that Jassi has an illicit relationship with him, Armaan. Armaan is shell shocked.

Ok, please be prepared for what you are going to read or see.
Today's episode was full of tears, heartbreaks and............a super big, gigantic, colossal twist. A twist so hard that...it changed a name and identity of your favorite character. Read on to understand.

JASSI IN HER ROOM IN MAURITUS

Nandini silently opens the door and enters Jassi's room to see the TV on and Jassi sitting on the ground like a rock. Nandini sees the reporters on TV and is shocked. She goes and softly touches Jassi. Jassi looks at her, the tears flowing. She asks her if Babaji doesn't want to see her happy and why sorrows don't leave her alone. Nandini says that it is nothing like this. She reminds her of the happy days spent in Mauritius. Jassi says that these days were like a happy dream, which is going to break soon. Nandini assures her that this too will pass and happy days will come soon. Jassi touches her forehead with her hand and cries bitterly. She sobs that her family, her only support has abandoned her, along with her name and respect. Nandini wonders aloud who might have done this. She says that Armaan is not like that, then who would have done this? Jassi looks at her, Armaan's name bringing a strange fear into her eyes. She says that she does not know. Nandini says that then she must find out who has done this. Nandini says that she cannot accept defeat so easily. She says that she must fight, for her family, which she loves the most. Jassi nods her head and says that she will fight. She says that she will go and tell her family the truth. She tearfully asks Nandini if they will forgive her. Nandini nods her head sadly and gives Jassi a hug, which she most needs.


ARMAAN COMES TO KNOW THE TRUTH

(Thank God, the only, yes, only decent thing that happened today.)

Armaan, wearing another of his red shirts, unshaven as ever, receives a call on his cell. It's dear friend Raj. Armaan asks him to say. Raj says that it is not he who will "say", the whole world is already "saying." Armaan asks him anxiously what he means Raj says that the whole world is talking of the "Armaan Jassi tragic honour news." (he said something like that), it's all out on TV. Armaan exclaims in surprise and switches on the TV. The reporter is telling that Gulmohur, once upon a time a successful company, is now down the drains and the one responsible for this Ms. Jasmeet Walia, the ex-secretary of Mr. Armaan Suri. Armaan's face turns paler with each word. The reporter continues that this is a classic example of the bitter truth of the deteriorationg values of the society: the story of a girl, who even went to the extent of trapping her boss for money and then stealing it from the bank account and absconding. Armaan turns deathly white. The reporter is sensible enough to mention the source of the news: the VP Sales of Gulmohur: Mallika Seth.
Armaan shudders. "Mallika?? Mallika...you should not have done like this!!!"


MALLIKA AT THE WALIAS

Mallika is driving and saying to herself that she will surely destroy Jassi for taking Armaan away from her. She says that she will make it difficult for Jassi to hide her face anywhere in town, let alone her house. She says that she is determined to throw Jassi away from their town as well as their life.
She then goes to the Walia house.
Bebe opens the door and is shocked to see Mallika. Billu asks her why she is here and if she is not satisfied after all that she did. Mallika shouts rudely that she is not the one who did anything; the one who has done everything cannot hide for long. Billu asks her to leave them alone as they are decent and respectable people. Mallika sneers that how can they call themselves respectable when their daughter dared to get into an illicit relationship with the man she (Mallika) was supposed to get married to. Billu looks like a bombshell has dropped on him. Bebe closes her eyes and Amrit screws her face. Mallika continues her tirade that Jassi trapped Armaan in her love. Billu cannot believe what he is hearing. He shouts that she not say a word more. Mallika sneers cruelly that that what more can she say to a father who lives on her daughter's money. She accuses that not only Jassi, but also her whole family was involved in the plan. Billu starts weeping openly. Bebe asks her to get out and stop her black tongue from saying anything more. Mallika continues that their daughter is a fraud and is hiding. Bebe asks her to leave the house and she storms away angrily. Billu is crying miserably.


WALIAS SHATTERED AND JASSI RETURNS

He then storms into Jassi's room. He picks up her graduation photograph. Weeping bitterly, he shouts that this is the girl who he had taken so much care of, who he had always held close to his heart. Bebe and Amrit are trying to calm him down.

Jassi's plane lands in Mumbai and she comes home.

Billu is shouting that he brought her up only to see this day. He cries that he hates her and throws the photo out, and it lands at Jassi's feet who is standing outside. A sad melancholic music plays in the background. Perhaps Jassi is slowly realizing what has happened. She hears the angry voice of Billu inside. Bebe is asking him to stop it now. Billu then opens the cupboard and takes out that historic pink b'day dress of Jassi. He remembers her b'day. Choti Jassi comes back again. Young Billu makes her sit on that "throne" he has made for her and says that she is his Queen Victoria. Little Jassi says that if she is his queen then he must listen to what she says & asks him to dance. Billu does a small jig.
Back to present. Billu sits on a chair, his legs failing him. He cries pitifully. He says that none of Jassi's things will remain in his house. Bebe and Amrit are crying miserably too and making unsuccessful attempts to stop Billu who proceeds to throw the pink dress out too, which again lands at Jassi's feet.
It has now started raining and Jassi's tears mingle with the raindrops on her face.
Inside there is a heart wrenching scene going on, with all three crying. Billu then opens the drawer and removes Jassi's dreadful specs.(Purab had done the honors of trampling them, Ok, I guess this is an extra pair.) Bebe tries to stop him in vain but he throws them out too.

Again they land near Jassi. Jassi looks at them with infinite misery. She remembers herself as a little girl and Billu convincing them to try the glasses. Choti Jassi is complaining that she does not want to wear such fat ones and Billu convinces her that her brain will become sharp and she will even know the tables of thirteen if she wears them.

Amrit asks Billu to come to his senses. He chides her that he has in fact come to his senses now. He then throws a cute blue teddy bear out.
Jassi cries more bitterly, looking at the teddy. She imagines her small version coming and picking the poor teddy.

Amrit tells Billu that after all she is their daughter and they must trust her. Billu says that he cannot trust her when she herself has admitted what she has done. Amrit suggests that they not jump to conclusions without seeing with their own eyes. Billu says that he has himself seen the forged balance sheets. He picks up another family photo and says that from today, none of her things will remain in this house, nor will her name will ever be taken. He throws the photo out too and says that for them, she is dead from today. Amrit and Billu are standing just outside the door, but fail to see Jassi standing out in the rain. Billu drags Amrit inside and slams the door. Jassi looks like she has died.


JASSI ALONE IN THE WORLD

Jassi slowly walks to a bench in a park. Billu's bitter words ring in her ears. She sits down weakly on the bench. She cries that where did her father's trust in his Queen Victoria vanish? She sobs that how could he even think that she could do such a thing? How could he think she has done something, which turned his love into hate? She hugs the blue teddy. She tells it that Jassi has died. She asks it if it heard what she said; for that house she is dead now. She tells it that she is alone in this world now, with no house with no one to call her own. She hugs the teddy and cries miserably.
(Much as I was disgusted with the turn of events, I must say that this was a very sad scene and I really wished Armaan came from somewhere and Jassi cried in his arms instead of the teddy's.)

Again, choti Jassi appears and takes big Jassi's hand. She takes big Jassi to the steps of a Gurudwara. They sit down. Big Jassi tells her small version that when she was her (ie small) she thought that her simplicity, honesty and integrity were her biggest strengths. But now she realizes, that it is because of these that she is defeated today, that she has dies. Choti looks at badi sympathetically. Big Jassi asks her what she should do as she cannot see any path. A classical music plays in the background. (It was nice, maybe a prayer) Choti then disappears and Jassi is all alone again.
She starts remembering some past happenings: Armaan and Mallika's engagement and Mallika sneering at her that she has no class, looks and so how can she dream of arranging Armaan Suri and Mallika Seth's engagement, Jassi broken down after reading Raj's letter Mallika chiding her in her last days at Gulmohur and finally the reporters.

The morning dawns. (I guess she slept on the steps.)

A nice religious song is played. Jassi enters the Gurudwara, head covered with her dupaata. She prays to Wahe Guru. She asks God why this happened to her and why all are upset with her. She prays that he show her the path.
The priest (I'm sorry, I don't know what they call him) says some holy words.

And then........as if her prayers are answered, the "right path" falls out of her bag: Purab's contract papers.
The priest tells a crying Jassi that her prayers will be answered. He puts a holy cloth around her neck and gives her flowers.
Jassi turns around and walks towards her bag and catches sight of the contract fallen near her bag. She looks surprised and remembers Purab offering it to her. She looks enlightened and thanks God for showing her the path.

She walks out and says that now she will never accept defeat and will live with the world, learning its ways. She says that if the world thinks that truth, honesty and integrity are her weaknesses, then she will find and harness her strengths: beauty and glamour. She will make the world bend before her.

And now get ready:
She then says with determination that for this, she will have to kill Jassi: till she gets back Bebe and her mother's love and till Balwant Walia will say with his head held high that she is his daughter. She says that now, she will lead a new life...................with a new name: JESSICA.


Phew! I guess we have not only lost our story, but also our Jassi.

Friends, I do not know if what was shown today was a deviation or a dash of spice, but I know for sure that it was not one bit likeable. They have slaughtered the Walia family. Read on if you are interested.

OUTSIDE WALIA HOUSE

Bebe shouts at the police officer to let go of Billu. The police leaves him, still accusing him and Jassi. Billu yells that it is not true. Amrit asks him to calm down, as they know that their Jassi has not done anything. Billu says with disgust that never has the police ever come to their house, nor has their respect gone in the drains like today. The officer shouts that he is going now, but will come back and will keep an eye on them. He leaves. Nandu comes, all surprised. Looking scared as a mouse, he asks what has happened. Billu chides that he should be the one who is telling them what has happened. Nandu looks puzzled. Billu accuse him that he was the one who dragged Jassi into this, lured her into buying a Mercedes and living a high-class life. Nandu says that they have returned everything to Gulmohur. At the mention of Gulmohur, Billu says that this is the place where he will find all his answers. He says that he will go to GM and meet Armaan Suri. Bebe tries to stop him, but Billu leaves, dragging Nandu along with him.
Bebe suddenly looks worried and says that the Billu-Armaan confrontation is going to yield drastic circumstances. Amrit is surprised and asks her what she means. Bebe says that this is a long story, but it seems she will have to tell her the truth now.


JASSI IN MAURITIUS

Jassi is frantically trying to call her home but the call cannot get through. Nandini suggests that the line may be busy and asks her why she is worrying so much. Jassi says that she is feeling strangely worried for her family. Nandini says that it's just that she is missing them, as it's been days since she's been here; however she is returning to Mumbai tonight. (Thank God). Jassi says that tonight seems like forever and that she is feeling scared for some unknown reason and fears that something bad is going to happen which she cannot stop. She tries the phone again unsuccessfully.


MUMBAI: POLICE AND MALLIKA

The officer tells Mallika (on the phone) that he could not find anything in the Walia house. Mallika says that she knew it, but asks him to keep a watch. The police tells her that that old man (Billu) has gone somewhere. Mallika smiles evilly. She then tells him his next action plan (which we cannot hear and don't want to as well.)


OUTSIDE GULMOHUR

(I was just remembering all those cute scenes outside GM, esp the Armaan jealous of Nandu scenes......what had we done to see this stupid scene at the same place today!

Nandu is trying his level best to convince Billu to withdraw. He tells him that this may worsen things. Billu says that one day or the other; they have to face the truth and these people. Nandu says that these rich people can do anything. Billu tells him that they cannot prove an innocent to be a criminal, after all this country has some law & order. He repeats that his daughter is innocent and that he will talk to Armaan Suri about it. Nandu shouts at him to stop, but can't stop Billu.


WALIA HOUSE

Bebe has shown Jassi's diary to Amrit. Both are crying. Amrit says that their Jassi has faced so much alone, but never told them anything. She curses Armaan that God will never forgive him and that he will reap what he has sowed. (Isn't what he has reaped enough?)

Just then the police officer comes back (nerd). Bebe is obviously irritated and asks him why he is back. She says her son is not at home. The police says he knows and has come to keep a watch, lest their Jassi stealthily comes back and hides in the house. Bebe shouts that what has she done. The police smiles cruelly and says that once they know what she has done, they will not take her inside the house. Amrit and Bebe are puzzled and scared. He asks them if they have ever wondered why their daughter came home late at night and with whom. Amrit defends that it was because of her work. The officer says that it was due to her illicit relationship with her boss Armaan Suri, which she made use of to create a false company Kohinoor and ran away after stealing it's money. (Every time I hear that "illicit relati...." I feel like turning off the TV set. Blow!!). Bebe shouts that this is not true. She suddenly looks like she'll collapse and Amrit holds her quickly, looking equally shocked.


GULMOHUR: MR. ARMAAN SURI AND HIS DRINK

Armaan pours himself a drink. ( Please......boy...wake up! Come out!! And kill Mallika!!!). He says to himself that this cannot happen, it can't. He says that the whole world may shout that Jassi is a thief but he CANNOT bring himself to believe this. He says he's sure someone has taken advantage of her and falsely accused her.
( Thank you Armaan for trusting her, that itself is a lot for us.)


MALLIKA, BILLU AND THE REPORTERS

Mallika is doing her favorite job: giving press interviews. She tells them this is the story of a girl who went to this extent for money; actually it's not only Jasmeet Walia's fault, it is also her family's fault. She then puts on a fake sorry face and says that she is "disturbed" now and cannot talk any more.
Just then Billu tries to enter and the security stops him. Mallika smiles radiantly. Billu comes inside and Mallika introduces him as Mr. Balwant Walia, Jasmeet Walia's father. She asks him what he has come for, isn't he at peace after stealing their money. Billu looks shocked. He says that it is a lie. Mallika challenges him to tell the press where his daughter and the lost money is. Billu says that he is not here to listen to her bakwas and that he wants to talk to Armaan Suri. He asks her to have some shame, she is blaming the girl who has put in her untiring efforts for their company; who is innocent and has not taken a single penny. Mallika's face turns crimson. She shouts that why has Jassi run away then. Billu says that she hasn't run away and will return soon. Mallika says that yes, she will return, only to go to jail. Billu says he now realizes it's her game. The press then swarms around him and pester him with questions. Billu has a tough time battling them and Mallika smiles to herself. One of the reporters then asks him about the fake balance sheets and even shows him a copy and Billu looks like his whole world has turned upside down.
Big brother Aryan then enters to sneer how chor ka baap was allowed inside. They say he came inside forcefully. Aryan says "Chori ke upar seena jori." He asks the security to throw him out and they do.
Billu is literally thrown out of Gulmohur and he lands at Nandu's feet. A shocked Nandu picks him up and shouts that who dared to touch him. Billu has gone in a state of shock. He sits on the road for some time, and Nandu helps him up. Nandu is shouting that he will not leave these people but Billu is still in his shock, and talks nothing, looking like a mad man. Nandu dutifully wipes the dust off his clothes and looks really upset to see how Billu was treated. He keeps chattering and Billu closes his mouth with his hand and starts walking. Mallika, Aryan and the reporters' words ring in his ears.


JASSI IN MAURITIUS, THE WALIAS IN MUMBAI

Jassi has tried the phone for the umpteenth time and finally switches on the TV to see the news. She hears her own story on the news and cannot believe it. They tell everything about the fraud etc. They even show the telecast of reporters outside her house, a troubled Bebe and Amrit who are trying to get rid of them and lock themselves inside the house. Jassi is utterly shocked and starts crying. The reporter says that this is a story that will bring out the bitter truth of society: the story of a middle class girl who dreamt of a rich and luxurious life who, in order to achieve that, went to the extent of having illegal relationships with her boss Armaan Suri. (Yuk again!) Billu then comes back and the reporters swarm him. He escapes inside the house.
Amrit and Bebe are shocked to see him in this state and ask him what has happened. Billu starts sobbing miserably. He hugs Bebe and they cry pitifully. (This is torturing not only them , but also us viewers) He tells her that everything is over. Bebe says that once Jassi will return, everything will be all right.
Back in Mauritius, Jassi collapses on the floor and Billu sits on the swing, losing all his strength. He tells Bebe not to mention that girl's name ever again.
Finally Jassi's call gets through. She starts speaking to her mother but Billu takes the phone from her. He tells Jassi that it is her father speaking to her. He says that he wants to ask her one question and her answer will decide his life and death, so he expects the truth from her. Jassi has already started crying. He asks her if she prepared the false balance sheets. Jassi asks him to listen to her. Billu says that he only wants the answer. Jassi begs that he listen but Billu says he only wants to hear yes or no. Jassi has no option but to sob a yes. Billu looks shattered. Jassi cries that he listen to her. Billu tells her coldly that he has got his answer. He says that he would have supported her all his life, but she has broken his trust, his honour and shattered her mom and Bebe. Jassi tries to explain but he shouts that she not call her "papaji".. He asks her not to come back and says that he does not want to see her face ever.. Bebe covers her face with her hands.
Jassi looks miserable and shattered.

Ok, Let's start with today's drama.....Today watch out for a beautiful scene.....very very beautiful...


VLCC GRAND FINALE

Purab is both shocked and embarrassed at Jassi's denial. He asks her what she has done. He says that it is really a big contract that he's offering and she will really benefit from it. Jassi is enraged. She tells him clearly that he is her friend and not her God. She says that he can choose to appear and disappear from her life when he pleases; but he cannot take her decisions for her. (Way to go Jassi!). Purab looks hurt. He says his intention was not to hurt her. Jassi says that he has no right over her life, how could he even think of doing such a thing? The press then starts pestering Jassi on why she refused the contract and if she already had one in her hand. Jassi tells them plainly that she is NOT the face Mr. Purab Mehra was looking for. Purab looks more hurt and annoyed. Jassi walks off. He runs behind her and tells her that if she ever changes her decision, his offer is open for her. Jassi tells him that she will NEVER change her decision. Purab then says that if she cares even one tiny bit for him, she should keep his respect in front of these people and accept the contract, at least in front of them. (Please, mera maan rakho Jassi). Jassi angrily snatches the paper from him and walks away.

Nandini comes up to her and asks her what she has done. She says that this was a big chance for her to earn a living. Jassi is almost in tears. She says that she just wants to go back, and then she can search for a job. Nandini says that she knows Jassi wants to earn basically for her family, and what better chance than this to get a decent amount? Jassi says that she knows this world. Here the starts shine and fade with equal caprice. She says that she is not interested in this fashion, glamour and modeling. Nandini asks her painfully straight, "You want to run away from fashion, glamour and modeling or you want to run away from Armaan??" Jassi turns to look at her with shock.
Nandini continues her torture," Why do you have to look at every thing from Armaan's point of view, Jassi? Why can't you separate him from yourself??"
(Ahem, I thought that was a stupid question.)
"I don't know Madam...." cries Jassi softly.
Nandini insists, "You have to forget him Jassi! You have to remove him from your life, your heart!"
"That's NOT possible Madam! In my each breath.....my each cell.....my each dream....there is Armaan Sir....... Even if I want to, I cannot forget him! And it's because of what he did to me, that I cannot bring myself to trust anybody else!"
"You have to remove him Jassi...from your life, from your world..." Nandini says.
"But how???" cries Jassi.
"There is only one way for this......" says Nandini wisely. "And that is: TO FORGIVE HIM."


JASSI FORGIVES ARMAAN

( This was a very beautiful scene....beautiful is the word....just loved it. I request you all to actually imagine this scene as you read it, it's so peaceful.)

Nandini & Jassi are sitting on the beach, practicing yoga. Both are dressed in white. Jassi looks simply pure....and lovely. Nandini tells Jassi that by forgiving Armaan, she will get rid of the bitterness in her heart and be able to live life with respect for her own self. She asks Jassi to close her eyes and call Armaan.

Jassi closes her eyes. She calls, "Armaan Sir! Armaan Sir! Come to me Armaan Sir!"

Now there is a peaceful silence....a calm darkness envelopes the air......white smoke adds to the serene beauty........and then........clad in white too......looking as pure as his love....and sweeter than ever........walks slowly to Jassi........her Armaan Sir.

Jassi stares at him. "I've come Jassi!" he says softly, his big brown eyes piercing her heart. Jassi opens her eyes. The old romantic music plays in the background. Jassi looks shocked.
"No!!!!! No!!! Go away!" she screams, all her bitterness and anger flowing out.

Nandini looks at her. "No Jassi! See him....talk to him!" she tells Jassi.

"No Nandini Madam! He will not listen to me! He has never listened to anything I say!"

"Today he will, he will listen to each word of yours." Nandini assures her calmly.

Jassi closes her eyes and goes back to her Armaan Sir. Tears roll down her face.
She tells him painfully, "Even now Armaan Sir, in spite of all that you have done to me, you are everything to me! My eyes..my dreams...my breath......is full of you and only you! But suddenly so much happened and then one day...my life was set on fire.....and my dreams, my wishes...all were reduced to ashes!" she sobs." I could even give up my life for you Armaan Sir.....but you betrayed me....abandoned me......killed me!"

Armaan's eyes fill up with tears.....and the tears start streaming down his cheeks......"Forgive me Jassi!" he says softly.......his eyes full of infinite love.

Slowly, Jassi raises her hand and touches his cheek. Armaan closes his eyes.
"I forgive you!" she says....and then holds his face with both her hands, ever so lovingly.
"All the pain that you gave me.......all the lies that you gave me.....I free you of it all!"
Both are crying pitifully.
"Today, I release you...from my self, from my heart, from my soul.........." the words seem like thorns pricking her as well as his heart. "I release you.....with a prayer that what you did to me, let no one ever do unto you....that what happened to me, should never happen to you.....that you remain happy always!"
She takes back her hands from his face. "Go! Go Armaan Sir! Go!" she cries out with deep anguish. Armaan looks sad and shocked..........and slowly walks away from her.

Jassi opens her eyes. She looks at the evening sky, the clouds, a serene orange. An infinite peace is written all over her face.
"You said right, Nandini Madam.....my world has changed. I can face life anew now!" she says quietly.


GULMOHUR

(Watch out for Mallika in her meanest avtaar. No, not even Nandini or yoga can make me forgive her for what she did today.)

Mallika is frantically searching the drawers in Armaan's cabin. She then has a victorious look on her face as she gets hold of Kohinoor's chequebook. She discovers that there are 10 crore rupees in Kohinoor's account. "All right! Now in my one move, I'll defeat you Jassi!" she says evilly. She then calls her dear brother and says that she needs his help

JASSI IN MAURITIUS

Jassi is peacefully sitting in her room when the phone rings. A voice says that he is her fan and wants 5 minutes from her. Jassi says that she does not even know him and hangs up. A second call says that he is her "deewana "and asks her out for dinner, begging her not to refuse as its his b'day. An irritated Jassi slams the phone. Her 3rd fan then directly starts singing "Tujhe dekha to yeh jaana sanam...." and Jassi loses her temper. She bangs the phone and is all ready to throw it when Nandini comes and asks her what she is doing. Jassi tells her about the weird phones. Nandini laughs and says they are her fans. Jassi says she thinks it is insane. Nandini says that she ahs 2 options: either to accept this new life or throw the phone. Jassi says that she is missing her home too much


GULMOHUR

Mean Mallika is sitting in front of her laptop, talking to Aryan. Aryan says that he has created an anonymous account starting with letter "J". Mallika smiles. Aryan asks her what she is up to. "You'll soon know big brother!" she hangs up.
She then transfers Kohinoor's money to Jassi's new account created by Aryan. She smiles like a vamp and says that she is now ready to destroy the pride and honor of Jassi and her family and that Jassi's destruction has begun.


RAJ'S CABIN

Raj is asking Armaan to see some figures when Mallika enters with her "Armaan!" shout.
She says that she needs to pay the suppliers and there is no money in GM's account. Armaan looks quite exhausted and tells her to take the money from Kohinoor's account and that he will sign on the cheques. She has them ready with her and quickly gives them to him. Raj looks at her very very suspiciously but our bhola bhala Armu signs them innocently. She thanks him and says she'll inform the banks right away. She calls the banks and starts her first class natak. She appears shocked. Armaan looks scared .(What next??) She shouts, "What?? No money in Kohinoor's account??" Armaan yells at her to tell him what has happened. She shouts that the girl in whose memory he sheds tears, whom he trusts so much has run away after stealing Kohinoor's money. "Your Jassi has stolen the money!!" she shouts. (I fail to understand how can she call the real owner a thief!" )
Armaan again looks like tsunami has struck.


JASSI IN MAURITIUS

Jassi is removing her earrings and make-up. She ties her hair into a simple bun and puts on the baggy salwar.


GULMOHUR

Back in GM, there is a swarm of journalists, questioning Mallika on the "fraud". Mallika says to herself that this is Aryan's kamaal. She says that unfortunately this is the truth. They ask her if the person behind this is their ex-employee Jasmeet Walia. Mallika shakes her head and says that it is sad, but true.
( And right, Armaan has to disappear at this moment )

Meanwhile, big brother Aryan is bribing a police officer to do "the work."


JASSI IN MAURITIUS


Nandini is surprised to see Jassi like this. Jassi tells her that her face may change, but not her habits and lifestyle. She says that this glamour, these parties are not her life, and further her family is used to see her simple.


WALIA HOUSE

Billu and Amrit are worried that Jassi has neither called nor written since a long time. Bebe assures them that she may be fine, in fact she nay even surprise them suddenly! Just then the bell rings. Amrit goes to open it and is surprised to find...............the police, not Jassi.
The police barges inside asking for Jassi. All are scared. Billu asks him why he wants Jassi. The police ignores him and says eh has a search warrant. Billu yells at him and asks him what he wants. The police loses his temper and says that he looks decent, but inside there is a different picture

GULMOHUR

Aryan and Mallika together. Aryan says that this is the extraordinary story of greed, avarice and theft: the story of how a family used their daughter for their selfish needs. Mallika says that she wants to defame them more. She says that she wants to see the headlines as :ARMAAN SURI AND JASMEET WALIA'S ILLICIT RELATIONSHIP

Urghhhhhhhh Mallika!!!!!


WALIA HOUSE

The police clutches Billu . Bebe says they are respectful people. The police says that not after what their daughter did in Gulmohur. Billu is surprised. He says that he will talk to Armaan Suri, he knows him ...Armaan Suri has even come to their house. (Poor Billu).The police says that for his kind information, Armaan Suri and the board has out charges on Jassi. (Urghhh again). Billu is shocked. The police drags him out. Billu asks the police if he has an arrest warrant. The police loses his temper and raises his hand. Billu is utterly shocked.

All right, get ready to witness the new Jassi in all her splendor and beauty,.............and Armaan in all his pain and misery.

JASSI: THE BEAUTY

The episode starts with Jassi getting ready for the VLCC Grand Finale. She is in her room, applying make-up. She does her eyebrows and her lashes and ever so gracefully the lips. She chooses the best earrings and the daintiest bangles. Finally she is done.

An impatient Purab waits down in the lobby. He wonders if she has worn the dress he had presented her.

His wait is over. She walks down the steps, clad in a stunning yellow sari. Finally she obliges him and us viewers by showing her pretty face. She looks amazing. Her hair looks black and shiny; her skin glows as does her smile, and the dreadful glasses are replaced by sleek ones, which make her look wise and smart.
Purab gasps. "Jassi???" He smiles at her. The people around stare at her with wide eyes. Jassi gets conscious. A man who has just arrived with his luggage is totally smitten by Jassi. He bumps into some girls who give him a generous slap, well all thanks to our Jhansi Ki Rani. A waiter carrying some glasses blindly trips and falls again as his eyes are focused on her.
Jassi asks herself if she has changed or everyone's view has. Purab & Jassi walk towards each other. Purab is totally awed by her. He smiles at her and tells her that she looks really good. He offers her his arm. Jassi is initially slightly reluctant but then accepts it.

VLCC GRAND FINALE

Purab and Jassi arrive in his car to the VLCC Grand Finale. They get down and Jassi gets conscious at once. Purab gracefully offers his arm, which she accepts at once. They walk together. Again people stare at her as if she has arrived from the moon.
Nandini is ecstatic to see her. She gushes that Jassi looks so beautiful, that she cannot believe it. Jassi smiles happily. Nandini asks her from which designer she got her sari. Jassi laughs that she doesn't know any designer and that the sari was a gift from Purab. Nandini says that that was really nice and thanks Mr.Mehra, who says that he needs to thank Jassi for wearing the sari. Nandini then tells Jassi that she must go on the stage to welcome Vandana Luthra.


GULMOHUR: ARMAAN & RAJ

Armaan is sitting hopelessly on a chair. Raj is stationed behind him and is flipping some files. Armaan says that he has still not given up hope. He says that he is sure Jassi will come back to him. Raj closes the file with frustration. He tells his friend that this does not mean he turn down Mallika's invitation to her apartment for dinner. He says it is better than going to bars and getting beaten up. Armaan closes his eyes with his hand. He looks least interested in going to Mallika's and says he does not know what's cooking in her head. Raj says desperately that other than Jassi, he feels there is something wrong with everyone. Armaan's eyes shine at the mention of his Jassi but he still looks unconvinced about the dinner.


VLCC GRAND FINALE

On the stage, Nandini welcomes the Chief Guest, Vandana Luthra (Head of VLCC) as the brain behind the beauty of thousands of women.
The technicians off stage start a countdown. 10, 9, 8......
Nandini prompts Jassi to go on the stage. Jassi asks for the bouquet and starts panicking. Nandini says never mind the bouquet and pushes her on the stage.
The countdown:3, 2 and.....1.
Jassi comes on the stage. She is welcomed by a flash of light, which makes her very conscious and uncomfortable.
The judges and audience comment that who is she, she is not a contestant and that they have never seen her before.
Jassi panics more to see the confused audience but Nandini encourages her from behind the stage. Jassi suddenly remembers the incident where she had fallen on stage and embarrassed Armaan in her initial days at Gulmohur. The audience starts clapping and Purab smiles happily. Nandini prompts Jassi that Chak de phate!
Jassi's confidence perks up by the applause and she walks on the ramp confidently and smiling. Vandana Luthra looks amazed to see Jassi and remembers her ordinary look on the day of Divya's send off party.
Jassi greets the audience and says that there is a little misunderstanding: she is not a contestant but the event organiser and Nandini's assistant. The audience cheers more and Purab grins with pleasure.
Jassi asks herself if what is happening is a reality or a dream.
Nandini then announces that Jasmeet Walia will welcome Vandana.L with flowers.
Jassi introduces her as the lady who made VLCC the top beauty center in India. Vandana tells Jassi that she had always felt there is a natural beauty in her and she is very happy to see that she has very ably and wisely nourished that beauty and brought it out before the world. She says that this is the true identity of a VLCC woman. Vandana gives the bouquet back to Jassi who smiles with joy.
Purab tells himself that today he will bring Jassi to the place he always wanted to, today he will bring her on the sky.
Vandana speaks about VLCC. She says that it is not only for beauty queens but for every woman who wants to bring out the beauty hidden within her. Purab and Jassi are sitting together in the audience. Purab keeps looking at Jassi admiringly. He even blushes to realize how smitten he is by her!
Nandini announces that after the Shapeup round, the confidence round & the Ms Beautiful round, today they have the grand finale of the VLCC Look of the Year. She invites the participants on stage.
The contestants walk the ramp and the judges mark them. Purab keeps looking at Jassi shyly. (Jassi is busy watching the pageant and Purab is busy watching Jassi.)


MALLIKA'S APARTMENT

Mallika has very thoughtfully laid the table and decorated it with candles. She herself is wearing a beautiful black dress and looks stunning. She helps a confused Armaan by his hand into her apartment. Armaan is puzzled and asks her what this all is. She happily tells him that she has prepared everything of his choice.

Armaan is really surprised. "What? Do you want to drive me mad, Mallika?" he asks her, looking exhausted and frail.

Mallika plays with his shoulders. She tries to romance him. "Yes Armaan....we were mad once upon a time....madly in love with each other!" (Armaan is not finding this great at all)." But it was you who turned me away...." she continues, all the time trying to entice him." I have always loved you though Armaan!"

"Mallika, you know everything...still??" he says.

Mallika helps him sit on the sofa. She locks her hands to his neck and continues her "trap Armaan back" game. "I know Armaan! I know...that we are made for each other!! I know you better than anyone else...and so I never felt bad by what you did to me....you thought I would never forgive you for what you did and felt for that ugly woman?" she caresses his hair playfully.

"You think you know me Mallika? Well, I don't think you know me well at all!" he tells a surprised Mallika. He gets up, freeing himself from her." If you knew me, you would never have had this misconception Mallika! You would have known what I feel in my heart...Jassi is not like everyone Mallika...Jassi is not like everyone!" he says sadly.

Mallika starts getting angry and disappointed. Armaan goes to her and clutches her hand hard. "Jassi is my first and last love! And I have realized it now. It's a pity you haven't realized it yet!" He leaves.

Mallika slowly gets up, realizing what she has heard: the bitter truth.
"Armaan rejected me???" she says poignantly. Tears of anger and sorrow flow down pretty face." And you are responsible for this Jassi!...only you!" she shouts bitterly. "I will not leave you!!" She upsets the carefully set table furiously. "I will destroy you Jassi!!!" she screams with vengeance and pain.


VLCC GRAND FINALE

Nandini announces that beauty can be best described by a song. She welcomes on stage the three popular contestants of Indian Idol: Amit Sana, Prajakta Shukre and Rahul Vaidya.

They sing their song: "Hum rahein ya na rahein kal...kal, yaad a jayenge yeh pal..."
The song is again very apt for what is going on in everyone's minds.
Imagine the song being played in the background and the scenes below superimposed.

ARMAAN

Armaan walks out of Mallika's apartment, looking shattered. He looks at Jassi's photo, carefully kept in his wallet and caresses it with love.

PURAB

Purab looks at Jassi pensively. An unknown fear flashes in his eyes.

ARMAAN

Armaan removes the photo from his wallet. He takes his lighter and....hold your breath, slowly....very very slowly brings it near the photo.....tears are streaming uncontrollably down his face.

JASSI

As if she's witnessing those tears of Armaan, a dark shadow of sadness covers Jassi's pretty face, fading her smile and glow.

ARMAAN

Armaan weeps as he tries his level best to touch the lighter to her pic, "I know you can't do this to me Jassi, I know you can't.....!!" He suddenly seizes his own hand, taking away the lighter with a jolt. "NO!! I CANNOT separate you from me Jassi!" he cries. "Tomorrow, I will see my shadow in your eyes!" Armaan's tears flow today, effortlessly.

JASSI

The words of the song remind Jassi if her own "pal"..."pyar ke pal". She remembers her realizing "The Letter", Armaan hugging her for the first time outside the Octaviour, the night before the final meeting, the last embrace on Valentine's, Armaan's jealousy, his roses, Raj Armaan discussing to send her away, she slapping him.....
Jassi's eyes are full of sorrow.

PURAB

Purab is pensively thinking of the time he spent with Jassi in Mauritius, where they rediscovered their friendship. He remembers the new Jassi when he had seen her for the first time.
Purab looks at the Jassi sitting beside him and his eyes fill up with unsaid feelings and tears.

The song ends. Nandini announces the winner.
Purab tells Jassi that he had always liked the old Jassi bit there is something really special about this new Jassi. He tells her that this honor, pride enjoyed by the beauty queens can all be hers. Jassi looks surprised. He tells her that people were praising her today and that now her time has come. Jassi asks puzzled, what her time means. Purab smiles mysteriously.

Nandini announces that they now have a surprise. Every year the top industrialist of India chooses a new face to be launched. She calls Mr. Purab Mehra himself on stage to announce the face he ahs chosen. Purab comes on stage. He says that people say that he has a knack for places as well as faces, but the face he has chosen this time has really captured his eyes, has made him bend before it. Jassi at once starts getting uncomfortable.
He says that now he can see nothing but this face around him. And this face is none other than: Jasmeet Walia. All clap and cheer and Nandini laughs happily.

Jassi is utterly shocked. A girl (maybe from the press) asks her some question. Purab tells her that she must learn to get used to all this now and step into this new world. Jassi angrily tells him that she is NOT interested in his new world nor his offer. She says that she refuses. Purab looks at Jassi, shocked and disappointed.

MALLIKA BRINGS ARMAAN HOME AND JASSI-NANDINI IN MAURITIUS

Today's episode starts with Mallika helping an injured and half-dead Armaan to her apartment. She helps him onto the couch. Armaan is still almost unconscious. He mumbles that he cannot bear it anymore. He incoherently asks Mallika where he is and where she has brought him. Mallika tells him that he is hurt and says that she will get medicine for him. Armaan keeps repeating Jassi's name in pain.


Back in Mauritius, a cheerful Jassi in a nice maroon dress runs to the seashore. She takes in the fresh ocean air and shouts with a smile," Chak de phate!!"

Mallika has gone inside to get medicine. Armaan's eyes catch sight of a photo frame of him and Mallika together (perhaps of their engagement). He looks at the photo with surprise and doubt.

Jassi continues to shout " Chak de phate!!" and looks really positive and happy.

Mallika is nursing Armaan's wounds. "Ouch!" he groans in pain.

Nandini comes and smiles to hear Jassi shouting. Jassi is slightly embarrassed and apologizes to her. Nandini tells her that there is no need for her to be sorry. She says that it is in fact good that she is enjoying herself and it will surely add new strength to her personality.

Armaan asks Mallika why she has still kept the photo; he says he thought she had thrown it in the trash. Mallika smiles sadly. She says that once upon a time, this photo was priceless. She says that times change, but the golden memories do not. She tells him that she has always loved him truly but he failed to understand her love. Armaan looks exhausted, guilty and helpless. His face is a collage of wounds, and his mind a collage of emotions. Mallika desperately asks him what he is doing to himself; why is he giving up his life for a woman who has betrayed him. She tells him that although he does not value his life, it is very precious for some people. She prays to him to learn to live.

Nandini is telling Jassi that laughter is always more precious than tears. She says that everybody's life is a mixture of joys and sorrows; it all depends on your outlook. A person who changes his view, changes his life. Jassi says that she will incorporate positive thinking in her life. She says she is grateful to Nandini for all that she has told her. Nandini says that the credit goes to Jassi herself.

Mallika tells Armaan that he has eluded himself from the path of life. She says that he really needs someone who will guide him to the right path.

Nandini tells Jassi that this has all been possible because she has learnt to love herself. She tells Jassi that she is now ready to face anything in her life. ," Chak de phate kudi!!" she smiles.


NEXT MORNING IN GULMOHUR

Ila, Aryan, Mallika & Raj are waiting in the boardroom. Armaan arrives, wearing shades to conceal his swollen eyes. Shocked faces greet him. He removes his shades to show his colored face. Ila cannot believe it's her son. Ila asks him why he is in this state, or rather due to whom she adds sharply. Armaan says that all that he is, is due to his own self. He says that he regards himself responsible for his life. Mallika closes her eyes in disbelief and Ila looks ashamed of what she is seeing and hearing. Raj looks like he has given up. Ila tells Armaan that his father is sick and at home, if he were here he would have got wild to see him like this. She asks him desperately what he is doing to his life.
"Mom! No....Mrs. Suri, it will be better if we talk to each other as two directors!" he tells a shocked Ila. Aryan sneers that is he at least in a sane condition to work and talk. He adds bitterly that earlier Armaan would present himself drunk; now he also comes here beaten. He says that it is not in decorum that a company's director or chairman present himself in a such a sad way. Ila chides him that he cannot talk to Armaan like that.

"Why?? Because he is your son?" A furious Aryan challenges Ila. 'If he were not your son, I would have.....!"

"What? What would have done?" Armaan cuts him. "You would have sent me to jail, right? I am here today to take complete responsibility for all that I have done. I am here to answer all your questions. You all can ask me what you want." he tells the board.

Aryan challenges him, "To answer questions or defend Jassi? All right, tell us then why did you hand over Gulmohur to that cheat?"

Armaan shouts that he is not going to answer his questions. Ila says that he then better answer the Chairman. She calls Puru home. Puru asks if all are present.
He then says (speaker phone so all can hear):
"I want all of you to listen to me carefully. I think we now need to take some really serious steps to get back our company from that thief."

Armaan shouts, "Jassi is not a thief Dad!!" (He looks utterly shocked at his father's words)

"Shut up Armaan!!" Puru scolds. (Armaan's eyes fill up with tears) " You got that thief till here, gave her more power than she deserved. Now we need to show her and her family their position." (Mallika has a satisfied look on her face). "Armaan, you go to her parents and tell them that if they don't get their daughter to sign those papers, we will destroy their honor and pride, and make it difficult for them to walk on the road with their heads held up."
Armaan is furious. He walks out of the boardroom angrily, slamming the door.
H comes out and stops against the door, finding it difficult to believe what he ahs just heard.


WALIA HOUSE: ARMAAN AND BEBE

Armaan arrives at Walia house. Bebe opens the door and is shocked to see him. He joins his hands weakly and wishes her Namaste.

"Can I speak to Mr. Walia?"

"No! You cannot!" Bebe answers curtly, her eyes flashing with anger.

"Please...Bebe...can I have two minutes with you?" he begs.

He comes inside, wiping his face.

"I have tried my best Bebe, but now things are out of my hands. I have to speak to Mr. Walia now."

Bebe's temper rises. "Are you threatening us? Are you?? What do you want to ask my son now?"

"Please Bebe...I am with you all...! Believe me please..." sincerity flashes in his deep browns.

"Belief? Trust? In you??" Bebe asks bitterly. "These words don't suit your mouth! Didn't Jassi also trust you? And what did she get from you? Ask your heart....can anyone ever trust you?

Armaan's eyes start filling up with tears. He looks miserable.
"Bebe...I admit all my mistakes, and I am ready to face any punishment....did Jassi tell you all this?"

"Dare you take her name!"

"I want the best for her!" he pleads pitifully.

"What will you wish good for her? You: who has turned her life into hell! When will you stop this hypocrisy of yours? Bebe is in full form today.

"Please don't say like that! I didn't do all this to her...it was some people in Gulmohur who...."

"You were the one! You were the one who created a false company in her name! You were the one who showed her false love! You were the one who broke her innocent heart!" Bebe cries. Tears stream down her face.

Armaan closes his eyes and raises his hand.
"Please don's say all this!" he begs.

"What were you going to do to her?? You planned to kill her, didn't you?" she accuses mercilessly, crying bitterly.

"NO!!!!" he shouts painfully.

"Jassi is alive today and I am grateful to God for that! And still you don't want to leave her alone!!" she says desperately.

Armaan goes and catches her shoulders.
"I admit Bebe...i admit each of my mistakes....but each wrongdoer gets at least one chance! Give me just one chance Bebe...Only one chance to meet Jassi!" he pleads pathetically.

" No! Now, you all want to prove that she has stolen GM from you!" Bebe shouts.

"I don't think so Bebe!" Armaan tries his best to convince her. "It's just some people who think...."

Bebe cannot be convinced today. She pushes Armaan out of her door. "My Jassi is not a thief! And I will not let anybody hurt her henceforth!" she says with determination.

Armaan, thrown outside the door pleads, "Please Bebe...I want to help Jassi!!"

Bebe gives back, "You started this fire, now you extinguish it yourself, or get burnt in it!
She slams the door shut on his face.

Armaan looks like life has shut all doors of hope on his face.


MAURITIUS

Jassi and Nandini are having tea together. Jassi says that when she sees herself in the mirror, she finds it difficult to believe it's herself. She smiles happily. Nandini says that the Jassi, which she now sees, is the real Jassi. Jassi admits that this is a start of a new life for her; Gulmohur had almost killed her. Nandini advises that she should then welcome this new life, further she now also has a new companion: Purab. Jassi looks shocked. "No Madam!" she retorts. "After what I have gone through, what all I have faced, I don't think I can ever bring myself to love anyone ever!" Nandini says that life is now smiling upon her. She says that she must not overlook the chance that it is offering her and the love. Jassi looks unconvinced. Nandini then suggests they leave the topic and says that she has planned a surprise for her in the VLCC Grand finale. Jassi looks surprised and happy.

Nandini then takes Jassi to "Kaya Skin Clinic" for her next step towards the make over. There a girl Maya compliments her on her hair. She says that they will now beautify her skin. Jassi then goes through a number of beauty treatments like steam, bleaching, face packs, masks, facials, eyebrows etc. Nandini keeps encouraging her that it's working out superb.
They then proceed to the make-up: lipstick, eyebrows, eyelashes etc.
Nandini then looks at the new beauty. "WOW!" she gasps in awe." Why were you so scared Jassi to show your true self? Where were you hiding this beautiful face?"


VLCC MISS BEAUTIFUL ROUND

A car arrives at the venue. Two dainty legs step out. We see her in a lovely dress, and beautiful hair. The face is not shown. Purab steps out too and they walk together inside.
The girls gush in awe. They wonder who is this new beauty and comment that they have never seen her before. Purab smiles proudly.
The models go through the photo shoot. Nandini arrives and again marvels at Jassi. Jassi laughs and says first it was Purab complimenting and now Nandini Madam. (No, we are not shown her face) Purab looks really happy and proud. A man comes and asks Jassi her name. He starts checking a list. Nandini laughs and tells him that Jassi is not one of the contestants as he thinks. The man looks surprised and tells Jassi that she is beautiful, but suggests he remove her glasses. Jassi argues that she has grown up with them and cannot do without them. The man and Nandini leave. Jassi asks Purab what this joke is. Purab smiles and says it's no joke; even he would have assumed that she is a contestant, had he not known. He tells her that she looks prettier than all the contestants.
Nandini announces that the models come up for their round.

Just then Jassi 's glasses fall accidentally on the floor. She beds to pick them but Purab walks ahead and by mistake tramples them....the glasses break to pieces...Jassi's eyes widen in shock.

MAURITIUS: JASSI AND PURAB

Jassi and Purab are having a nice day off in Mauritius. They enjoy the lakeside and stroll together on the wide roads happily.


GULMOHUR: BOARDROOM

Raj is desperately trying to tell a lifeless Armaan to open his eyes and face the truth: the truth that Jassi has changed, our Jassi has changed. Armaan refuses to believe. He argues that this is not true. He tells Raj that she has only done to them what they did to her. Raj however is adamant that Jassi has cheated them and that they cannot trust her anymore. He urges Armaan to call her home and ask her family about her coming back.


MAURITIUS: JASSI AND PURAB

Jassi and Purab are having a picnic by the lakeside. Purab is peacefully sitting on the grass and looks dreamily at Jassi. Jassi gets up and walks towards the lake. She looks at Purab for a long time and then says that she wants to tell him something. Purab looks at her with apprehension. Jassi comes and sits next to him. She smiles and says that she wants to thank him. Purab looks relieved and says that she is welcome.


WALIA HOUSE: THE LAWYER'S PHONE CALL

Jassi's lawyer Mr.Sachdev calls Nandu. He tells Nandu that he has good news for them: the court has decided to hand over Gulmohur to its rightful owner. Nandu sighs with relief that finally Armaan will leave Jassi alone. Mr.Sachdev tells him that he's getting him wrong, by the real owner he means Ms. Jasmeet Walia. Nandu looks terrified. He panics that they DONOT want Gulmohur and that Jassi had already signed the papers. Bebe & Amrit hear him panic and rush out. The lawyer is surprised and asks Nandu why he's so upset. Nandu says that Jassi will come back and return GM to the Suris. The lawyer laughs that GM is a company, not a toy that can be handed over by one person to another. He tells Nandu that they should be happy to become the owners of a company worth crores of rupees. Nandu looks like he'll cry. Mr. Sachdev congratulates him and hangs up.
Bebe joins her hands and prays for Jassi. Nandu joins his hands in fear too. He tells a fearful Bebe and Amrit what has happened.


MAURITIUS: NANDINI, JASSI AND PURAB

Jassi and Purab return from their holiday. Jassi tells Nandini how nice her day was. (They are sitting in the open-air cafe). Nandini asks her to go and rest now. She says that they have to go somewhere after that as there is a lot of work still to be done. Jassi reluctantly goes and Nandini laughs and says that she is sorry to behave like her teacher.


WALIA HOUSE

Amrit is really worried and asks Nandu how all this happened. Just then the phone rings. It is Armaan.
Armaan is most irritated to find Nandu back on the line. He shouts at him and asks him why he's loitering all day at Jassi's place. (Sara din yahin pe pada rehta hai kya? He says that with irritation and also a tinge of jealousy) He rudely asks him about Jassi. Nandu asks him sharply NOT to shout and stop pestering Jassi's family. Armaan tries to cool down and asks him patiently if he informed Jassi about the board meeting. Nandu says he did but Jassi said that she does not want to talk to him and that her lawyer will carry on the proceedings. Armaan is shocked to hear this and asks Nandu what this means. Nandu tells him that the legal decision is out and that Gulmohur now belongs to Jassi. Armaan looks like a bus has knocked him out. He is utterly shocked (an understatement) and keeps mumbling that this is not possible. He accuses Nandu bitterly that he always wanted this. Nandu retorts indignantly that they never wanted this to happen. Armaan spits venom on Nandu. He tells him that it was he who lured Jassi into doing this. Nandu yells at him to stop talking crap. Armaan warns him that he will never let go of Gulmohur, he asks him to wait and watch what he does to get it back.



MAURITIUS: JASSI AND GAURI

Gauri Pradhan is complimenting Jassi on her new look. She says that she cannot believe it is the same shy and meek Jassi that she had met at the photo shoot. She says that the make over has added a new confidence to her personality. Jassi agrees that she can feel the confidence too. Gauri tells her that she believes that a woman's external beauty goes hand in hand with her internal temperament. Jassi smiles and says that it reminds her of her Bebe: her inner beauty radiates on her face, making her look warm and loving.


GULMOHUR: ARMAAN AND RAJ

Armaan is absolutely shaken. Raj tells him that they need to tell the board the truth. Armaan catches Raj's shoulder and repeats that Jassi CANNOT do this to them. He says that he is leaving. Raj asks him coldly if he is going to drink again. Armaan indignantly asks him if he needs to answer his questions as well now. Armaan walks out and Raj stops him. He desperately asks Armaan what he's going to get by drinking and turning into a Devdas. He says that people will talk crap about him. Armaan shouts that he does not need any body's sympathy or opinions. Ila and Mallika arrive and are shocked to hear this. Ila asks Raj what's happening. Raj says that he feels the need to tell them the truth. He tells them that Gulmohur now legally belongs to Kohinoor. Ila and Mallika cannot believe their ears. Ila casts a questioning look at Armaan whose eyes fill up with tears. He leaves. Raj says that "Madam" (Jassi) wants to send her lawyer to talk to their lawyer; and "Madam's Sir" (Armaan) is going to drown himself in his sorrow by drinking all night through. Mallika shouts that she knew that that ill-fated woman always wanted Armaan to drink to his death.


WALIA HOUSE

Meanwhile, Bebe's decision to read Jassi's diary resolves. She searches frantically for it in her room and finally gets hold of it. Bebe starts reading the diary.

(Now the scenes are superimposed: Bebe reading and Armaan in the bar.)

Jassi's diary: "I had vowed to live and die for Armaan Sir and lately I have started feeling that he too has started feeling some love for me! "


ARMAAN IN THE BAR

Armaan is drowning himself in his sorrow. He says that his love for Jassi was not false....but what Jassi has done today proves that she has betrayed him...he looks miserable and tearful.


Jassi's diary: "Armaan Sir's love has started showing my life a new direction....a new hope...a new dream......." We see a page where Jassi has written in bright red: "I LOVE YOU ARMAAN SIR!"


Armaan pines,"The world may think that I will kill himself by drinking...but I can die for your love Jassi.....I can die!"


Jassi's diary: "I kept doing what Armaan Sir told me to..blindly. I just followed his words...so lost was I in his love...!"[/color]


At the bar, a birthday party is going on. A man (I'll refer to him as Denim jacket as he was wearing one) with his girlfriend and 2 other male friends (Blue shirt and Leather jacket) are sitting at a table and singing. It is the girl's birthday.
Armaan is by now totally drunk...he looks as if he has drunk the whole bar. He walks up to the table and joins in the clapping and cheering. They ignore him. Armaan laughs and sneers that there goes......one more man's destruction in love! He goes and cups his hands to Denim's ears, "My friend! See that girl sitting next to you? Don't you make the folly of falling in her love! I assure you! One day she will ditch you and go! She'll leave you all alone...!" (He looks totally out of his senses)
Denim tells him patiently to leave them alone.
Armaan laughs like a mad man. His gait staggering, he asks them to chill and relax..he falls down and lifts himself up. He starts repeating his "advice".
Blue shirt says, "Brother! Why are you spoiling our party? Just go and leave us alone!"
Armaan insists that they listen to him.
Leather jacket asks him to listen to them, and leave them in peace.
Armaan goes back to Denim and starts advising him to beware of that girl again. Leather can stand him no more and he gets up, furious. He says that this man will not listen like this and grants Armaan a powerful blow on his face. Armaan falls back. He says that you people seem to understand the language of fight, and returns Leather a blow. The other two come to Leather's aid. They are all fuming and seize Armaan. They start bashing him up, giving him fierce blows in his stomach. Armaan crouches in pain. Armaan foolishly keeps challenging them and they are more than happy to give him a sound thrashing.


Bebe is by now crying. "I cannot understand Armaan Sir lately..he seems to be going away from me...as if he has removed me from his heart!"

Exactly at this time, Armaan is thrown out of the bar. He lands on the street, clutching his stomach. Blood oozes from his face and he looks nearly dead. He struggles on his knees and yells, gathering every remaining bit of his heart,"JASSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

(That shout was agonizing, heart wrenching and the most powerful I have seen on screen.)


Armaan manages to lift his body up and staggers back to the bar. The watchman stops him. Armaan says that he needs to pay his bill and pushes himself inside.
He is welcomed by strange and hostile looks. Monica, Mallika's friend happens to be there (wonder how her friends 'happen' to be there everytime!) and is shocked to see Armaan's state.
The barman tells Armaan that he should not have come inside as the men will not leave him alive. Armaan painfully asks him how they can kill a dead man. (Ouch!)
Armaan goes back to that ill-fated table and greets them with a smile and a hi. He tells them that it seems they did not listen to his "advice" and hence he has come back to explain to them. Blue shirt gets up, annoyed and asks him if he does not understand. He asks Armaan what he will take for leaving them alone. Leather says that they will have to "make him understand". The girl is also very annoyed by now (obviously, her bday) and asks Armaan to shut up and just get out. Armaan again starts preaching Denim to leave the girl. The men are by now too angry for words. They catch hold of Armaan and start beating him mercilessly. They punch him relentlessly with their knees and Armaan howls in pain. (It was unbearable) They kick him with their shoes on his face and body. Armaan looks like a corpse.

Monica has the brains to call Mallika. Mallika asks her what gossip she has for her. Monica says that the latest gossip is about Armaan who is sure to die in a bar if she does not save him. Mallika looks shocked.
The men throw the half dead Armaan back on the street where he lands on a motorbike.


Diary: "I cannot believe that Armaan Sir has betrayed me. He whom I considered my own has abandoned me. So many times in my past have I gone through this, but now my life seems to be swallowed by grief and despair. It is like I am going through a thousand deaths." Tears stream down Bebe's face.


Armaan is lying on the street, looking deathly. Blood flows from his entire face. He looks unidentifiable and miserable.
He struggles up to make his third entry inside. The watchman says he's really sorry but he can't let him in. He asks Armaan why is he doing this to himself on purpose. Armaan manages to smile and says that he himself has lost the power to understand what and why he is doing this.
He enters the bar, falling on the way. (Girls, take out your hankies)
He goes and hugs Denim, telling him that same sorry story. The men are totally fed up by now. The girl asks him what exactly is his problem. She gives him a tight slap. Denim says that they now need to teach him a hard lesson. They ask him what enmity he has with them. Armaan mutters that he does not have any enmity with them , only with love and with those who are in love.

Denim then says that he has a way to teach this man a lesson .They drag Armaan to the bar counter. The man picks up a beer bottle and smashes it forcefully on Armaan's head, yes.....his head.....the bottle breaks to pieces and it looked like Armaan's head will too....

The "remains" of Armaan collapse to the floor.......his face is covered with blood and only blood......he falls slowly to the floor.....his hand up to the sky.....his lips a silent smile.......as if he is now satisfied by punishing himself......and......faints.

In another smart marketing move, Kaya Skin Clinic takes up the responsibility to give Jassi a glowing healthy skin.

While Mehra Kolah will do the make up, Seema Khan's Indo-western outfits will bring out the best in Jassi. Sahaan Khan will give her the lifestyle accessories to make her look complete.
Popular socialite and her jewelry designer (in association with Mid-day), Queenie Dhody will work on her jewelry and give Jassi tips on styling and on elegant designer jewelry. Vandana Luthra of Vandana Luthra's Curls and Curves takes the onus of providing grooming and diet tips.

The list doesn't end here. The celeb quotient too comes in to persuade the plain Jane to allow herself to be transformed. Divya Dutta has made her appearance already and tonight's episode will see the charming lady Gauri Pradhan take up the task to convicne Jassi.
